Ideally, thermals are to be worn when the temperature goes below 10°C. It can go up or down depending on your body’s temperature-withstanding capability. The main duty of the thermals is to keep your body warm and dry. They are moisture-wicking and breathable. So, if you don’t wear thermals under your regular clothes, then when you sweat, your clothes will get wet which can make you feel itchy and in the worst-case scenario even hypothermia. Hence, it is always advisable to wear thermals as your first layer when in the cold and then layer it up with your regular clothes, sweaters, and jackets.
Choosing the right thermal depends on several factors including the occasion, temperature range, fabric, and the activities you may participate in.
Generally, there are three fabric compositions in which the thermals come- polyester blend, cotton & wool. Wool is the most preferred out of the three as it is the warmest. Depending on the occasion and activity, you may choose a lightweight thermal and later layer up depending on your demands. There are also options for temperature-adaptive thermal wear which keep you warm and then adapt as the temperature gets warmer. This also helps you reduce the need for other layers.

Choosing the right thermal can be a troublesome process for many. Take precise body measurements and compare them to our size guide to unlock the perfect fit. Thermals are always better in a snug and comfortable fit. It needs to be worn closer to your body. If it's too loose, it will not serve the purpose of keeping you warm. So, if you find yourself straddling two sizes, remember: for thermals, go for the smaller size.
A: Merino Wool is a delicate fiber, treat it gently.
As one sweats less in winter, avoid over-washing this garment to keep the fabric newer and longer. Its inbuilt moisture-wicking and odour-resistant properties allow it to be worn for 3 to 5 days at a time without washing.
If your travel plans are slightly longer(more than a week), it is better to take 2 thermal sets* - use one for the daytime and one for the night. That way, in the nighttime you can air dry your used thermal and have a fresh thermal at night instead of wearing it for more than 12 hours.
*Please note that the number of thermal sets that you may need will also vary on the place, activity, and body type. If you are going to be indulging in an outdoor sport, which may cause you to sweat a lot, it is better to carry more thermals and vice versa
Our thermal wear is made of a unique combination of fine merino wool and bamboo. Unlike traditional thermals, we designed it such that you won't feel bulky when wearing it. It is lightweight, warm, anti-odor, and temperature-regulating. This indicates that you can now double up the same thermal as a T-shirt when it is warm. We have tested our thermals for 15°C to -20°C. You can easily use them for more than 200 washes without compromising the quality.
Bonus: They also come in a cute reusable jute bag that helps you carry your layers in the cold! Now go for your winter runs, snowy adventures, or cozy getaways in style.
Absolutely!
One thing we want to stress about Kosha’s thermal is that it is made lightweight consciously. We didn't want the bulkiness of the regular thermal to weigh you down and hinder your comfort. So even though it is thin, it is designed intentionally without compromising on the warmth or performance.
Further, our thermals are tested by real-life testers in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 15°C. So, you can enjoy your adventure without worries with our thermals.
Of course!
Kosha thermals will keep you warm up to 10°C when worn as is. If you wear them with other layers like jackets and sweaters, they will help you feel comfortable even at -10°C. If you are feeling cold at any temperature, it is a great idea to wear another thermal over the one you are wearing. This is also a great idea when you are traveling to any Scandinavian country wherein the windchill factor is common. You can also wear two thermals when there is a drastic change in the temperature and it takes some time for the body to acclimatize.
