By Air: Although Dalhousie does not have its own airport, cities near the hill-station have. The nearest domestic airport is in Pathankot, 75 kilometres from Dalhousie, although it is solely connected to New Delhi. Gaggal airport, located in the Kangra district and around 140 kilometres from the town, is the second closest airport. The airport has excellent domestic and international connections. You can either take a bus from Kangra to Dalhousie for a small price of INR 150 or arrange a private cab/taxi transfer.

By Bus : Though the journey may be long, the roads leading to Dalhousie or to other places such as Pathankot and Chamba are in decent shape. Many deluxe, semi-sleeper, luxury, and Volvo buses operate from ISBT New Delhi, spanning roughly 590 kilometres. The majority of buses make pit stops at roadside dhabas and cafes. Buses to Dalhousie are operated by a number of private companies, including Himachal Road Transport Corporation and Haryana Road Transport Corporation.
