Make new #StoriesWithDad Contest Alert!

The rains have started working their magic and shades of green are enveloping the city. And even as we take that in, Eid festivities are all around and Father’s Day is this Sunday. So, all in all, it’s an excellent time for a short getaway, we think. Also, have you checked out our FB page yet? Kosha is running a fabulous Father’s Day contest, and we’d love to raise a toast to our first superheroes. Do send us your pictures along with your #StoriesWithDad and stand a chance to win big.

And while we are at it, let’s talk about our fathers. The men who make barely make their presence known and yet, they’ve got our back. Come to think of it, our first impressions of hard work, honesty and strength are derived from our dads. Wouldn’t it be awesome to probably take a trip with the man who has taught you all that you know and more? Perhaps, a road trip with the man who handed you the keys to his bike or motivated you to drive a car. Well, we have a few travel spots that may help.

Fathers Day

The rains have coloured the landscapes green, and the long winding roads are calling. A series of quick getaway spots surround Mumbai. Yes, quite a few like Lonavla, Khandala, Alibaugh, and Matheran are on everyone’s list. We bring you some of our fav spots that would make for a memorable weekender.

Here’s our list

  1. Bhandardara – Harishchandragad fort.

At 50 km from Bhandardara, this historical hill fort is a favourite trekking spot. In the vicinity of age-old temples and Buddhist caves, the three peaks offer a panoramic view of the nearby forests. A must for every dad that’s young at heart and loves the outdoors.

  1. Raigad – Murud Janjira

It is a marine fort situated on an island off the coastal village of Murud, the entrance of which is visible when you are around 40 feet away. Known for its former rounded bastions and erstwhile freshwater lakes, a lesson in history, this.

  1. Lonavla – Lake Pawna

A favourite with the campers and adventure sports enthusiasts, the picturesque landscape of Pawna lake delights like no other. Treat your dad to a starry night if the skies are clear with a bonfire to go with it. It’ll be a night to remember, we promise.

  1. Chandrapur – Tadoba Tiger Reserve

The oldest and largest national park in Maharashtra deserves a worthy mention. Go on a safari in an open jeep and spot the regal tigers, if you can. Be sure to catch the varieties of birds and insects, too. This would be one exciting trip for sure.

  1. Malshej Ghat – This mountain pass holds a variety of flora and fauna and is a delight in the monsoons. The lush green environs beckon the grey clouds, and the valley is a sight to behold. Dotted by waterfalls, it is best described as a slice of heaven.

Why are we asking you to take a trip with your dad? It’s because we tend to take time for granted. We never say the things that matter. More importantly, we are always busy with things that don’t matter. Now is the time to let the loved ones in your life know how much they mean to you. And make newer memories so that you have some more wonderful #StoriesWithDad

Kosha wishes a Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads out there. You are the fabric we are made of, so thank you for being you. Today and always.
