Ali Ibn Abi Talib AS

CB (Chandra Bhaga) are a group of peaks located in the Lahaul massif. Mt. CB 13 (6264M) is one of the amazing and wonderful summits that rise high overlooking the beautiful Chandra Tal Lake in Batal. The summit of this peak presents to you fantastic views of the entire Kunzum range, the Chandra Tal lake and the gushing Chandra River. Known to be one fo the two best peaks to climb in this region of Himachal Pradesh, Mt. CB 13 expedition is only to be taken up by the most experienced trekkers and daring mountaineers who wish to take it to the next level and experience a thrilling climb to the top of the mountain.

CB 13 is one of the most admired and vastly visited tourist spots in the region. Scaling this mountain peak is considered to be a challenging feat. Adventurers and thrill-seekers from around the world come to test their skills and will-power by giving this climb a go. One of such encounters was shared to us by Giripremi, a group of 6 people whose encounter with the peak we are sharing here today!

Kosha Designs Tested: Puffer, Hardshell jacket, Hardshell waterproof pants, Caps, and Technical socks

Giripremi is the brainchild of five avid mountaineers- Ushaprabha Page, Anand Palande, Dilip Nimbalkar, Nandu Page and Shashi Hiremath, who envisioned the growth mountaineering culture amongst the youth. The organization works with the motto- ‘Mountaineering for Happiness.’

This punishing technical peak lies in the Chandrabhaga (CB) Range. The name of the range comes from the two Rivers Chandra and Bagha, which mark the border of the massif. While climbing up this peak you have to walk on the huge Dhaka glacier, which is the biggest glacier in Lahaul Valley. From the top of the peak, you have a great view of the Kunzum Range, the magnificent Chandratal Lake and the Chandra River. This particular group of people bravely challenged themselves and completed this ferocious coup, and came out triumphant! Not to mention, Kosha’s winter wear was with them for each step of their journey.

Vivek Shivade, one of the Giripremi team members says –

“Brilliant products from Kosha. These winter wears are not only good for leisure adventure trips but I have used them for a technical Himalaya mountaineering expedition to Mt. CB 13 (6264 m) and they have done their job in keeping the team warm and comfortable.”
